The Rita D. Walters Learning Complex (RWLC) for Family and Community Development is a partnership designed to provide educational and family support to children, youth and families in and around the 8th Council District in Los Angeles.

The goal of the Complex is to develop and maintain strong self-sufficient families and safe, viable neighborhoods.

Opened in 2002 in an event commemorating the 10th anniversary of Los Angeles’ Civil Unrest, the complex contains a Child Care Center, Youth and Family Center and an Alternative High School in 47,000 square feet.   A state-of –the art gymnasium is a strong focal point for the community.
