The Rita D. Walters Learning Complex operates an After School Program for neighborhood youths 7-12 years of age.  The program combines academic (homework assistance) and recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts and field trips to enhance the participants’ cognitive and individual growth and development.

Program hours are Monday through Friday 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.  A summer program is provided June through August with full day activities to engage youth who would otherwise be at home or on the streets, unsupervised.

 Sports and Leisure activities for children and youth include:

  • Basketball Leagues
  • Volleyball
  • Aerobics Classes
  • Karobics Classes
  • Line Dancing
  • Dance Class
  • Free Gym

Parents benefit both from the child care as well as the peace of mind knowing that their children are in a safe, nurturing, and creative environment that provides free, nutritious meals and snacks, exercise andeducational growth.
