FOR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The Rita D. Walters Learning Complex for Family and Community Development is a partnership designed to provide educational and family support to children, youth, and families in and around the 8th Council District of Los Angeles.
The Rita D. Walters Learning Complex is named in honor of former School Board Member and 9th District Councilmember Rita D. Walters, in recognition of her exemplary career. This complex was made a reality through the visionary work of Mark Ridley-Thomas, Councilman of the 8th district.
Two newly constructed facilities, a Child Development Center and a Community Center/School Building house the following three components of the Rita D. Walters Learning Complex:
